A pool heat pump uses a reverse thermodynamic cycle to transfer low-grade thermal energy from the surrounding environment (usually the air) to the pool water, providing efficient heating. It not only maintains a constant pool water temperature (typically 26℃-28℃) but is also often combined with a dehumidification function to address humidity and condensation issues in indoor swimming pools.

The working process of a swimming pool heat pump is similar to "using a refrigerator in reverse" or "using an air conditioner in reverse":
Heat capture: A fan draws outside air (or air from around the pool) into the evaporator coil.
Compression and heating: The low-temperature liquid refrigerant absorbs heat and evaporates into a gas. The compressor then compresses it, significantly increasing its temperature.
Heat release: The high-temperature, high-pressure refrigerant flows through a heat exchanger, transferring heat to the circulating pool water.
Recycling: After releasing heat, the refrigerant condenses back into a liquid and returns to the evaporator to continue the cycle.

Indoor Temperature and Humidity Control Function
For indoor swimming pools, the heat pump not only heats the water but also recovers heat loss due to evaporation:
Dehumidification: It condenses moisture from the air into water, reducing humidity and preventing wall corrosion.
Heat Recovery: The condensation heat is recovered and used to heat the pool water or indoor air, saving up to 75% of operating costs.
