Customer Case Studies
When tunnels are being excavated for railways, highways, and subways in southern China, temperatures inside tunnel portals can sometimes reach 42°C. In response to market demand, our company has developed a tunnel air-conditioning system designed for use on tunnel boring machines, which effectively mitigates high ambient temperatures within the tunnel. This system has already been successfully deployed in Guangdong’s subway projects, where it helps maintain tunnel temperatures below 30°C even during the hottest summer conditions.
Cooling Water Cooling System for the Mixing Plant
During the hot season, the temperature inside cement silos at mixing plants can reach 50–60°C, necessitating cooling measures. Currently, the most common approach is to wrap the silos with shade cloths to protect them from direct sunlight. However, due to the tall design of the silos, installing these cloths is challenging, and their fixation is often inadequate, resulting in limited shading effectiveness. Moreover, prolonged exposure to sunlight can degrade the shade cloths, diminishing their protective function and requiring frequent replacement. Additionally, when shading is not needed, the cloths must be removed, which is time‑consuming and labor‑intensive.
For many years, China Railway Construction Corporation has maintained a long-term partnership with our company, making significant contributions to tunnel excavation by providing ventilation and cooling solutions that effectively address the challenges of tunnel‑face ventilation and temperature control. Our company has developed a tunnel air-conditioning system that combines external-loop cooling water from the tunnel boring machine with forced‑draft cooled air to lower temperatures at the tunnel face. Building on conventional external-loop cooling and tunnel ventilation, this system installs an air-conditioning unit directly on the TBM. The tunnel ventilation airflow is passed through an air cooler, and the cooled air is delivered via the secondary ventilation system to the working face—specifically, the segment‑assembly area. The outlet temperature of the secondary fan can reach as low as 20°C, which is 10–12°C below ambient conditions, thereby providing effective cooling and improving the working environment.
The case of Tripp (Guangzhou) Heating and Cooling Equipment Co., Ltd. partnering with China Railway Construction to provide a water‑circulation system for cooling tunnel tunneling machines demonstrates Tripp’s expertise and exceptional service in the heating and cooling equipment sector.
Spiral plate heat exchanger for cooling and temperature reduction
In November 2023, Fuan Optoelectronics of Dongguan, Guangdong, contacted our company. During the production of organic optoelectronic materials, they encountered excessively high temperatures in their heat-transfer oil, necessitating cooling. Following technical discussions and design coordination, we developed a spiral plate heat exchanger as the cooling unit for Fuan Optoelectronics.
