Plate type selection
Plate type or corrugated form should be based on the actual needs of the plate heat exchanger application. For the flow of large allowable pressure drop is small, should choose a small resistance plate type, and vice versa, choose a large resistance plate type. According to the fluid pressure and temperature, determine the choice of removable type, or brazed type. Determine the plate type should not choose a single plate area is too small plate, so as to avoid too many plates, the flow rate between the plates is small, the heat transfer coefficient is too low.
Calibration of pressure drop
In the design of the TRANP plate heat exchanger selection, the pressure drop is also a certain requirement, so it should be calibrated. If the calibration pressure drop exceeds the allowable pressure drop, the design selection calculation needs to be done again until the process requirements are met.
The process and the choice of flow path
Process refers to a medium within the heat exchanger in the same direction of flow of the parallel channel, adjacent to the two plates composed of media flow channel. In the plate heat exchanger selection process, the process combination form should be based on heat transfer and fluid resistance calculations, in order to meet the requirements of the process conditions to determine. Try to make the cold, hot water flow channel within the convective heat transfer coefficient equal or close, so as to get the best heat transfer effect. Because the convective heat transfer coefficient on both sides of the heat transfer surface is equal or close to obtain a larger value of the heat transfer coefficient.
