Selection points of shell and tube heat exchanger

1) According to the known flow of cold and hot fluid, the initial and final temperature and the specific heat capacity of the fluid determine the required heat exchange area. The heat transfer area is estimated initially. Generally, the heat transfer coefficient is assumed, the structure of the heat exchanger is determined, and then the value of the heat transfer coefficient K is checked.

2) When selecting the heat exchanger, pay attention to the pressure level, operating temperature, and connection conditions of the interface. Under the premise of pressure drop and installation conditions, the shell-and-tube heat exchanger is selected to have a long diameter with a small diameter, which is conducive to increasing the heat exchange capacity.

3) The pressure drop of the heat exchanger should not be too large, generally controlled between 0.01 ~ 0.05MPa;

4) The velocity of the fluid should consider the viscosity of the fluid. The velocity of the fluid with a large viscosity should be less than 0.5 ~ 1.0m / s; the velocity of the fluid in the general fluid pipe should be 0.4 ~ 1.0m / s.

5) A filter should be set before the hot water enters the heat exchanger.

6) The combined result of the single processing and configuration of the heat exchanger in the heat exchange station should meet the total heat supply load and regulation requirements of the heat exchange station. On the premise of meeting the user's thermal load regulation requirements, the number of heat exchangers in the same heating coefficient should not be less than two and not more than five.
