QINGMING
The Qingming Festival is one of China's major traditional festivals, an opportunity to pay homage to ancestors, offer food and incense, reunite with loved ones and honor the memory of the departed.
One of the main traditions of Qingming Festival is tomb-sweeping, where family members go to clean the graves of their ancestors, offer flowers, burn incense and paper money, and pay their respects to their departed loved ones. During this period, it is also customary to have a picnic with family members in honor of their departed loved ones.
At the same time, Qingming Festival is also the season for spring trips and kite flying. The festival coincides with the blossoming of spring flowers, making it a good time for outdoor activities. In many parts of China, people celebrate the festival by going for walks in nature, riding bicycles, and even taking part in traditional dragon and lion dances.
