Montreal, Canada – May 15–21, 2026 – Tranp, a specialized manufacturer of tunnel-dedicated air conditioning units, will make its debut at the World Tunnel Congress (WTC) 2026 in Montreal. Under the theme "Connecting Communities through Underground Infrastructure," the event brings together global experts from 81 ITA member nations.
Tranp's showcase focuses on its innovative tunnel air conditioning system, designed to solve a critical industry pain point: extreme heat in tunneling worksites. In hot regions, ambient temperatures inside tunnels can reach 42°C, severely affecting efficiency and worker safety. Traditional ventilation alone is insufficient.
Tranp's solution features high-efficiency double-screw compressors, high-quality condensers and evaporators, delivering powerful cooling performance with large air handling capacity and rapid temperature reduction. The unit offers four-step capacity control, uses Schneider electric components and imported parts, ensuring reliability and energy savings. With an integrated PLC automatic control system, it can be remotely managed from the shield machine central control room, requiring no dedicated operator.
The unit provides an air volume up to 50,000 m³/h and discharge temperatures as low as 20°C, creating a comfortable working face. It tolerates external circulating cooling water temperatures ranging from 30°C to 46°C, maintaining stable operation even when water flow fluctuates during shield tunneling.
Already successfully deployed in several large underground projects, including metro lines in Guangdong, Tranp's system keeps tunnel temperatures below 30°C even in summer, winning high praise from contractors.
WTC 2026 features nearly 200 exhibitors and over 2,000 industry professionals. Tranp cordially invites all visitors to its booth to explore how its tunnel-specific environmental control solutions beat the heat underground.
