Utilizing Power Plants' Waste Heat For Cooling/Heating, Nanjing Takes A Strode Towards Energy Recovery

In the Hexi New City of Nanjing, the use of waste heat utilization, multi-energy complementary, and dual-mode energy supply has achieved comprehensive energy utilization, greatly improving energy efficiency and energy supply security. At present, there are four energy centers completed and put into use in this area, with an energy supply area of more than 2 million square meters.

Power plant waste heat steam heating and non-electric air conditioning cooling have long replaced traditional heating/cooling methods. Such waste heat utilization and multi-energy complementary models have also become the mainstream of regional energy development in Nanjing. Through the establishment of a regional energy system, Nanjing Youth Olympic City has achieved annual energy savings equivalent to 4,700 tons of oil equivalent, and annual carbon dioxide emissions by 14,100 tons.

And this is not the only attempt by district energy in Nanjing. In 2015, Nanjing Hexi Yuanda Energy Service Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "Nanjing Yuanda") built a regional energy center in Nanjing Financial City to provide cooling/heating services for Nanjing Financial City; in 2016, Nanjing Children's Hospital (Hexi District) ) Has also joined the regional energy "green army".
