During industrial heating and cooling process applying refrigerant, plate condenser and evaporator are necessary to perform the duty of condensing refrigerant gas from compressor, and evaporating refrigerant liquid as gas form returning to compressor for next round circuit.

Installation
Heat exchanger must be supported by special brackets other than connection spigots to ensure its fixation and must not be subject to stress or vibrations from connected pipework.It is advisable to place it on a platform and clamped to a solid structure using brackets shown in the picture. Connection of hydraulic hoses direct to heat exchanger is not recommended due to pressure surges.
The heat exchanger must be mounted with vertical orientation as shown so that proper fluid drainage can take place.Even the least amount of air inside the exchanger would lead to a remarkable reduction of heat transfer effect.
Cleaning
Due to the diverse applications of brazed plate heat exchangers various methods of cleaning may be used.The following method is often used for heat exchangers applied as refrigeration condensers in cooling tower circuits where poor quality water is used or poor water treatment results in heat exchanger fouling.This fouling can be corrected by chemical cleaning,reverse flushing or a combination of both.Regular reverse flushing in situ is the simplest option and may be the only treatment necessary if fouling is predominantly caused by sedimentation.If however,scaling has oc- cured,chemical cleaning will be necessary.This should be performed using a weak acid cleaning liquid pumped through the heat exchanger in re- verse flow direction at approximately twice the normal flow rate.Remember that the cleaning acid should be cirrculated in reverse flow for usually
24 hours.At the completion of the cleaning process,it is important that the unit be flushed with clean water for at least 30 minutes.
