The name Counter Flow Heat Exchanger is opposite to Parallel Flow Type, suggesting different flowing directions of the fluids. Comparatively speaking, Counter Flow Type is of higher efficiency as the fluids keep exchanging heat every time they pass through the plates at their respective side.
