According to the Law of the People's Republic of China on the Prevention and Control of Environmental Pollution by Solid Wastes, hazardous wastes refer to wastes with hazardous characteristics that are listed in the national hazardous waste list or identified in accordance with the hazardous waste identification standards and identification methods prescribed by the state.

For hazardous waste containers and packaging, as well as facilities and places for the collection, storage, transportation, utilization, and disposal of hazardous waste, hazardous waste identification signs must be set up.
2. Classified storage
Enterprises and institutions that produce hazardous wastes must store, utilize, and dispose of hazardous wastes in accordance with relevant national regulations and environmental protection standards, and must not dump or stack them without authorization. The collection and storage of hazardous waste must be classified according to the characteristics of hazardous waste. It is forbidden to collect, store, transport, and dispose of hazardous wastes that are incompatible in nature and have not been safely disposed of. Storage of hazardous waste must take protective measures that meet the national environmental protection standards. It is forbidden to mix hazardous waste with non-hazardous waste for storage.
3. Storage time
Enterprises and institutions engaged in the business activities of collecting, storing, utilizing, and disposing of hazardous waste shall not store hazardous waste for more than one year; if it is necessary to extend the period, it must be approved by the ecological environment authority that originally approved the business license.
