How to Clean A Heat Exchanger?

Aug 15, 2020 Leave a message

Although a heat exchanger can help you improve production efficiency, you still need to maintain and clean it regularly. That's because after long-term usage, the deposit layer will insulate the heat exchanger and slow down the heat exchange rate, causing the heat exchanger to overheat or malfunction. It'll not only reduce energy efficiency, but also cause further system wear. In addtion, fuel burning deposits and coal or wood waste will melt onto the heat transfer surface. When these deposits melt, they form a glassy insulating layer that is difficult to remove.

Now let's talk about the practical clean methods.

  • One way is to use a brush to scrub the exchanger and run water though it. This method takes longer, but definitely economical.

  • If you wanna try another labour-saving method, then water jet is a good choice. It makes high water pressure to cleanthe plates.

  • The third method of acid cleaning is only recommended if you have a lot of trouble getting the debris out of the plate heat exchanger.

Finally, we suggest that you do the maintainess after cleaning for a better performance and don' t foegect to check the heat exchangers at least once a year and clean them if it becomes dirty.
