What is the Ship Certification?

Ship classification is an indicator of the technical status of a ship. In the international shipping industry, all seagoing ships with a registered gross tonnage of more than 100 tons must be supervised and built under the supervision of a classification society or ship inspection agency. Before the construction of a ship begins, the specifications of each part of the ship must be approved by the classification society or ship inspection agency. After each ship is built, the classification society or ship inspection bureau will identify the hull, onboard machinery and equipment, draft mark and other items and performance, and issue a classification certificate.
