Spiral plate heat exchanger
| Product Details
The spiral plate heat exchanger is fabricated by rolling a single steel plate into a seamless structure, forming two uniform spiral channels. This design enables counter‑current flow between the two heat transfer fluids, significantly enhancing heat transfer efficiency. It is suitable for steam–steam, steam–liquid, and liquid–liquid heat exchange applications and finds widespread use in industries such as chemical processing, petroleum, solvent production, pharmaceuticals, food processing, light industry, textiles, metallurgy, and coking. Structurally, it is available in both non‑removable and removable types.
Material Selection and Principle
- Optional materials: SUS304, SUS316, SUS316L, Q235B, SUS321
- Structural classification: detachable spiral plate heat exchanger, non-detachable spiral plate heat exchanger
- Pressure rating: 1.0 MPa ~ 2.5 MPa
Key Features
1. Self-cleaning design: Since the fluid flows through a single passage, localized flow velocity increases, generating shear forces that prevent scale deposition.
2. High heat transfer efficiency: The heat exchange efficiency is 1–3 times that of a shell-and-tube heat exchanger, with a maximum overall heat transfer coefficient of up to 3,300 W/(m²·K).
3. Fewer dead zones: The continuous flanging geometry eliminates dead zones and the risk of stagnation, thereby minimizing fouling to the greatest extent.

Structural Type
1. Detachable type

Structure: Two helical channels—one side is fully welded and sealed, while the other side is sealed by a gasket and end cap pressed tightly together, allowing for opening.
Maintenance and Cleaning: The flange cover can be opened, and the entire plate bundle can be removed for mechanical cleaning.
Applicable media: Media prone to scaling, containing particles, or easily clogging, such as wastewater, fibrous liquids, and slurries.
Design temperature: 40°C to 400°C
Design pressure: vacuum to 20 bar
Heat transfer area: ≤500 m²
2. Non-removable type

Structure: The four sides of the two spiral channels are fully welded and sealed, forming an inseparable whole.
Maintenance and cleaning: Only chemical cleaning or high-pressure water jetting is permitted.
Applicable media: Clean, non-scaling media such as fresh water, oils, steam, etc.
Design temperature: -40°C to 800°C
Heat transfer area: ≤500 m²
Design pressure: vacuum to 30 bar
